Driving into camp.
Looking towards the campfire ring.
Some familiar Bethel Camp scenery, with a changing background:
According to an old legend**, butterflies will only land on those who bring joy to the lives of people around them. It must be true – at least… both of these people bring joy to MY life.
We call this swing “Jonah’s Rest” and the name has never felt more appropriate. This is exactly what Jonah wanted to see as he was sitting on his high perch looking down at the city of Ninevah.
The new route to the playground.
The Wellington and Evangeline Moyer family planted this “sweet bubby” bush near our campfire ring at a family reunion in memory of loved ones who have gone on. The spot where the bush was growing has been covered up with a pile of dirt, but never fear! The plant was moved to a safe location first.
The bottom of the orange section of the pole marks floor level. There’s still a lot of dirt to be moved out.
This is exactly like my house. Clean a place up, and every one of the kids will converge on it and find some new way to have fun.
**Interestingly enough, that old butterfly legend originated right here at Bethel Camp. About 5 minutes ago. On this very keyboard where my fingers are now typing. Funny how these things come full circle.
